Learn about spss

  Hello guys ... today I want to share knowledge about spss. But firstly we must know about what it is and how to use spss ?

 SPSS statistical software is one of the first made in 1968 by three students of Stanford University, namely Norman H. Nie, C. Hadlai Hull and Dale H. Bent. When first created this software is operated on a mainframe computer, until the publisher McGraw-Hill published the user manual SPSS.

  Along with the times, the initial goal was created SPSS slightly shifted. Initially, SPSS created to process data processing in the field of social sciences, and while it is an acronym SPSS Statistical Package for the Social Science.

  However, now the function of SPSS has expanded to serve different types of users, such as for the factory production process, research cience science, and others. Therefore, an extension of SPSS was turned into Statistical Product and Service Solution, which the users of this software are very diverse as HSBC Bank, ABN Amro Bank, AC Nielsen (bureau marketing research world), American Airlines, British Telecommunications, Canon UK, Unilever, University of Chicago, and other large companies.

 Nowadays, not only handle software SPSS statistical problems alone, but has been extended to data mining (explore the data that has been collected), and predictive analytics


   Okay I will give a tutorial on calculating average values using SPSS version 20. However SPSS version 20 must be installed.  For example we will process the data value of 10 students that we have previously used to calculate the frequency. Data values of 10 students are: 65, 75, 80, 70, 80, 75, 80, 75, 65, and 70. Enter the data in the data display View!

   Steps to calculate the average value and standard deviation with SPSS using descriptive menu is as follows:

1. klik menu  Analyze > Descriptive Statistics > Descriptives...

2. in the dialog box that appears enter a value into the box Variable variable (s) by clicking the arrow to the right.

3. Click OK to process the data analysis.
Results of the analysis of the data is displayed in the Output window as follows:
